Two Poems

Poetry / David Ishaya Osu

Beginning and end

                                                                                                              from the
    end, her book                                                                                        cover
            my mirror                                                                                           —
                                                                                                       whoever fills
        the body                                                                                              with
moons                                     is setting
                                                  the apocalypse
                                                                                                              she said
                                                                                                       open and go

we waited &
we gathered

ash & doors

with voices

was out in

the rain ‘til
a kiss came

red on her

i live in a
fire tree all

cup & lips
