Lori Evelyn is a graphic designer from Detroit, Michigan, specializing in brand and identity, print, and web design.
Who or what are your main influences?Evelyn
I am a sponge so I soak up everything that I can from everywhere that I can. I love to save print materials with good design that I find around town, look at advertisements that I see around town, or look up current trends from design sites.
What does a typical day look like for you?Evelyn
I am a freelance designer so no two days are the same. I usually find a nifty coffee shop to make my office for the day and bounce between working on a few projects that I have. I love dinner dates with friends or spending time at the Lincoln Memorial to relax—I usually do those two things a couple times a week.
What are you currently working on?Evelyn
I am currently working on a permanent installation piece for an apartment building opening up in DC in September 2016. The work is to honor Channing E. Phillips. It is a really exciting project and I am honored to be designing it. This is my first project like this and I am really looking forward to seeing it up. I always have a couple of branding, print, and web design projects. I love the variety because it helps to break up long work days.
