Frankly Quite

Or was it the other way around, was it all vice versa lisa frankly
I liked the way it barely made sense
I loved how you made not one lick of sense
You were transcending eternity
by smelling
the mosquito’s secret
I was transcending immortality by tasting
the oak branches’ gossip
We were transcending
down
into our knee bones & the complex musculature of our feet
We asked the earth, Are we now a song, a dream,
a poem, or a wish
& the earth said, Yes
&, to double check, we were like, All of the above
& the earth said, Uh huh
& the moon chimed in, That’s right
& then, to super confirm, they were both like, SONGDREAMPOEMWISH
& then we were tired,
frankly quite exhausted, our one real wish
was to go
horizontal, & dreamlessly
So we said to each other, Why don’t we continue
in the morning
or tomorrow night,
whenever it’s truly crescent, evanescent,
which could even be the afternoon
